Cultivating Kids run community workshops coaching people who work with children as part of their employment or as volunteers in the community.
Our community coaching aim is to give people skills that develop:
confidence in communicating with children
an ability to make quick, positive connections with children
a sense of satisfaction that children are leaving sessions with the message you want
effective communication with all children in the sessions
a sense of fun for children while learning
an ability to see your passion and knowledge reflected in the children's responses
At Cultivating Kids we believe the community plays a significant role in exposing children to experiences that may not be available at home or at school. Community workers, along with parents and teachers, strongly influence how children see their world and identify their place within it.
The community workshop format:
meet with you and your staff and discuss your business outcomes for including young children and share any concerns you may have when working with them.
sit in on a session to observe the presenter's style, affirm their positive qualities and identify areas for improvement
facilitate practical workshops outlining what usually works when communicating with children and what doesn't
offer personalised coaching sessions where we model the skills required for positive connections with young children.
This format has flexibility depending on individual needs. These workshops are aimed at people with little or no training in working with children and would suit people such as presenters for children's excursions, children's tour guides at art galleries and museums, after school care workers, elite sports people visiting schools, children's guest speakers at schools and kindergartens such as firemen, paramedics, police etc.
The community workshops are available in Geelong, Ballarat, Surf Coast and Melbourne suburbs close to Camberwell and Brighton. At Cultivating Kids we also offer workshops for parents and kids organizers / school planners.
